The SolidStop 6 is a rigid, low-profile work stop for standard 6" Kurt-style machine vices. Mounts to either side of the vice with no additional hardware, and all adjustments from arm angle to stop rod position are made with a single 5mm hex key.
The low-profile body keeps the 6mm stainless steel stop pin as the highest point, ensuring full cutting tool clearance on approach with no risk of interference during 3-axis machining.
Compatible with jaw thicknesses from 10–52mm (0.4–2.05 in) and jaw widths up to 200mm (8 in), covering hard jaws, soft jaws, step jaws, and machinable blanks. Once set, the rigid construction delivers a repeatable X-axis datum on every load, eliminating re-indicating between parts and reducing setup time across batch runs.
This product ships to over 50 countries, see Shipping Page for more info.
Low Profile Design
The stainless steel stop rod is the highest point on the workstop resulting in excellent clearance even on OP1 machining operations using serrated jaws.
Once mounted, only a single 5mm hex key is needed to quickly adjust the SolidStop to your desired position ready for the next setup.
Versatile Mounting Options
Mount the SolidStop to either the left or right hand side of your vice with no extra hardware required. Alternatively mount a SolidStop of both side for repeatable positioning of 2 pieces of stock.
The highly adjustable arm works with hard jaws, soft jaws, step jaws, and custom fixtures. Mount once, set your stop, and reload parts without re-indicating saving crucial minutes each setup.
Is the SolidStop compatible with Kurt Style AngLock vices?
Yes. The SolidStop 4 and SolidStop 6 are designed for standard 4" and 6" Kurt-style machine vices respectively. This includes the Kurt AngLock range and compatible equivalents from other manufacturers that share the same jaw and body geometry. See images at the top of this page for dimensions.
Can it be mounted on both sides of the vice?
Yes. The SolidStop 4 and SolidStop 6 can be mounted on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the vice, giving you flexibility to suit your part orientation and machine table layout. No additional hardware is needed to do this, simply flip the arm 180 degrees and re-mount.
Does it work with soft jaws or step jaws?
Yes. The large adjustable arm is designed to accommodate a wide variety of jaw types, including machinable soft jaws, hard jaws, and step jaws.
What is the difference between the SolidStop 4 and SolidStop 6?
The SolidStop 4 is sized for standard 4" Kurt-style vices. If you are running 6" vices, we also offer the SolidStop 6 - same rigid design but sized for larger vices.
